All in Bloom
As an avid writer, this can arguably be considered one of my favorite projects. For my creative writing class, we were assigned to create and publish a poetry collection. We needed to have at least ten poems that were somehow connected to each other, an author's statement, and an illustrated cover made by us--the rest of the project was up to us, the writers.
The topic I chose to focus on was how our obsession with beauty and love can be connected to nature--hence the title, "All In Bloom." The poems themselves spanned anywhere from me connecting my past self discoveries to the Sun and the Moon, the color green, and having your heart broken during a hike in Colorado's Rocky Mountains. The project itself helped me come out of my shell as a poet, seeing as I had mainly focused on writing fictional short stories in the past--and it has led me to finding out that I have a talent for writing prose poetry as well as prose stories.
